Warhol studied Pictorial Design at the Carnegie Institute of Technology in Pittsburgh from 1945 to 1949. Warhol lived and worked mainly in New York. Warhol is one of the best-known pop art artists; central theme in his work is the daily visual culture of American consumer society. He made flat, sleek, colorful compositions and large-format screen prints of images that to him represented American cultural values.
